The 2025 Arsenal Challenge will be held October 10-12 2025 for Boys & Girls u7/2018 -u19/2006

The Arsenal Challenge has grown to become one of the PREMIER Fall tournaments in the state of Arizona with games played in Gilbert, Mesa, and Phoenix.  Prided on organization, experience to its participants and value you, won't find a better event nationwide!  The Arsenal Challenge offers competition to all levels of teams.

At all facilities their should be no dogs or other pets, sunflowers seeds, trash left, or children unsupervised.

AZ Athletic Grounds

Entry is free for all players, coaches, referees, and children 10 and under

AZ Athletic Grounds is charging $5 per day for parking and $6.50 per person per day for entrance.  It is recommended by AZ Athkletic Grounds that visitors pre purchase tickets at the below link:

Arizona Arsenal Soccer Club has nothing to do with the parking or ticketing at AZ Athketic Grounds.  Questions regarding AZ Athletic Grounds parking and ticketing can be directed to the following contacts

The main entrance and east entrance will be open AZ Athletic Grounds. The west entrance will be closed.

Benches will be provided for all games at AZ Athletic Grounds including 4v4, 7v7, 9v9 & 11v11.

Canopies are allowed but not provided by the tournament

At AZ Athletic Grounds Coaches can come by the HQ tent on the great lawn to collect their coaches gift which is an Adidas Drawstring bag.  It will be first come first serve while supplies last.

U7-U8: no champion, each player will receive a pin when they check in
U9-U10: will have champion, champion medals, trophy to the winning team, and finalist medals.  All players receive a pin when they check in
U11-U19: will have champion, champion medals, trophy to the winning team, and finalist medals

Sideline Selection
Both teams will sit on the same side of the field with ALL spectators sitting on the opposite side. The home team should sit on the north or west side of the half line. The visiting team shall sit on the south or east side of the half line. No one will be allowed behind the goal areas except when in transit.

Benches will be provided for ​all games​ at AZ Athletic Grounds.

Canopies are allowed but not provided by the tournament

Division Formats
4 team division- 3 games and no final. Winner based on points.
5 team division- 4 games and no final. Winner based on points.
6 team division- 3 games cross bracket and final (wildcard, top 2 teams in points)
8 team division- 3 games in group play and final (winner of group A vs winner of group B)

Additional notes

  • 4 and 5 team brackets do not have playoffs and will be point based (10-point system)
  • Remember to check and sign your game cards after each match (including playoffs).
  • U9-U19: will have champion, champion medals, trophy to the winning team, and finalist medals.
  • If weather is hotter than expected water breaks could be implemented
  • Please ensure you clean your sideline after each match

Rosters

  • U7 & U8 may register a maximum of 8 players. U7 & U8 teams may use up to (4) four guest players.
  • U9 & U10 may register a maximum of 12 players.
  • U11 & U12 (9v9) may register a maximum of 16 players. U11 & U12 teams may use up to (4) four guest players.
  • U13 & U14 may register a maximum of eighteen (18) players.
  • U15 and up may register a maximum of (22) players. U13 and up teams may use up to (5) five guest players.

Any team playing with guest players is limited to their appropriate player maximum. Teams will be able to play all players up to Max roster sizes (u13/U14 play max of 18 players per game; u/15 and up can play a max of 22 players per game).

A player may only play for one team during the tournament. Any ineligible player discovered will cause the team on which he/she played for to forfeit all games already played.

Player Cards
The head coach or team manager must have their player cards for each game. In the event that there is a roster check, red card or ​heard injury and the team is not able to present the player cards in a ​timely ​matter it will result in ​forfeiting all games.

Length of Half
U7-U8 10 minutes x 4
U9-U10 25 minutes
U11-U12 30 minutes
U13-U14 35 minutes
U15-U19 40 minutes

​Tournament Competition
The tournament will be scored on a 10 point scale. Teams will be awarded points on the following basis:
Six (6) points for a win
Three (3) points for a ​tie
One (1) point for each goal scored up to three (3) goals
One (1) point for a shut out - however no shut out ​points will be awarded in a 0-0 ​tie​, in that event each team will receive only 3 points.
Athletic Trainers will be on site at each facility

Please remember teams cannot mix passes from two different organizations

Check-in Deadline
This year we will be moving to a completely online check-in process.  Online check in must be completed by midnight 9/28.  Instructions on how to complete this process can be found by clicking the link below. Players can only play for one team throughout the duration of the event.

League Schedule Conflicts:  Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the ability to work around league schedules.  Please be sure to black out our tournament weekend on your league schedule requests.

Coaching Conflicts:  We will attempt to accommodate a maximum of 2 teams per coach.  For coaches with 3 or more teams we will try to accommodate schedule requests but cannot guarantee.
